Documenting

I think that this would count as documentary photography... The top pictire of my sewing desk was a little dark but I liked it that way. I also noticed that I can see my photography assignment sheet in the background! :D In the second photo the dragonfly's front left wing was a bit blurry for my taste but this was the best I got. -Audrey S

Constructed Photo

I set up the produce and canned goods to show that this is a process. The construction began last spring, continued through the summer, culminated in the fall with canning and preserving and is enjoyed all winter in consumption.

A Couple Documentary Photos

Here's a couple of documentary photos I captured at the Farmer's Market this Saturday. It's interesting to see the difference in family interactions in each of the two photos. I also love how each of the people are telling their own stories...each of their faces, body language, and dress reads a fascinating story of their individual personalities.

Portraits

In the first photo, my big achievement was editing out a can of pineapples. But I realized that I didn't quite capture the shadow cast from the cabinet, and left an odd spot where the can used to be. Oh well.

I mostly adjusted the hue values of both photos. I tried to increase the color saturation on the second photo, but found her skin tone too red when I adjusted the entire photo. Instead, I used a brush tool on the wall color.

Downtown on Saturdays

Doing bills and catching up on the news! I gave this one a little more color and contrast and added a little bit of a black hase to the edges using Picnik.

Life as we know it in this college town . . . Walking to cafe's during the day with bags of books and ready to study, only to be caught up with homework and prepared for a long night at The Garden. The editing of this picture consists of enhanced contrast and less color:)

These two guys definitely looked like they were enjoying their saturday in the nice weather. I sat on the bench across from them and snapped a few:) I used photoshop just to enhance the shadows, lighting and the saturation, but over all this picture speaks for itself!
